Travelling Tales from Ireland

Travelling Tales from Ireland

I absolutely love coming to Ireland. The people have this wonderful way of calling you 'love' but it not seeming unusual but warm, friendly and welcoming, especially when you travel to the small fishing villages along the South West Coast of Ireland, where Noble Isle sources extracts of Samphire and Sea Oak for “Sea of Green” Hand Wash and Lotion, in Roaringwater Bay. I could spend all day enjoying fresh mussels and listening to tales of the Irish through live music by the local musicians that just happen to pop by throughout the day creating an atmosphere that is unmatched. But alas, I must head back into the city and get to work because I am here for a reason.....Noble Isle has launched on the Emerald Isle!

For the past six months we have been working on setting up a partnership with the most well known luxury retailer in Ireland, Brown Thomas, and last week we were delighted to announce we launched our stunning collection in their three stores. It is the beginning of a perfect partnership, for not only are they home to some of the most exclusive and luxurious brands in the world, but the staff and team at Brown Thomas create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, they make you want to stay and spend time shopping...a truly inviting experience.

My visit was to train the staff of Brown Thomas Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Over breakfast, I shared the tales of the background of the extracts suppliers, showed the breathtaking landscape photography taken by Bob Berry of the provenance sites and explained the top, heart and base notes of each fine fragrance. I am pleased to say that the staff loved the product and are proud to be the exclusive retailers in Ireland for Noble Isle.

We couldn't be more pleased by the overwhelming Irish welcome!

Enter our September competition for the opportunity to take home our Sea of Green Hand and Hand Lotion. Find the answers on our bespoke interactive map of the British Isles that has been created to unfold the story of our extracts provenance.

Sea of Green is a verdant coastal fragrance inspired by the Atlantic coastline, with extracts of mineral-rich sea oak and samphire with notes of sappy thyme, ivy and juniper.

Sea Oak (Fucus vesiculosus) is a form of kelp that has long been celebrated for its soothing effects on the skin, thanks to its abundance of minerals, including iodine, calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Samphire (Crithmum maritimum) grows on rocks by the sea, and contains vitamin C and A, and high levels of minerals such as iron, calcium and magnesium – all of which make it known for its antioxidant and regenerative actions on the skin.

All you have to do is answer the following question:

What coast line in Ireland have we sourced
our Sea Oak and Samphire from?

For your chance to win, all you need to do is the following:

• Like us on Facebook & submit your answer via the competition tab by clicking here
• Or Follow @nobleisle on Twitter and submit your answers with the following hashtag #SeaOfGreen

The competition closes on Friday 28th September, 2012. We will announce the winner 3 days later.

Introducing Sea Oak

Introducing Sea Oak

The sea oak that finds its way from the Roaringwater Bay Mussel Farm of west Cork into Noble Isle’s Sea of Green Hand Wash and Lotion is an unassuming but intriguing plant. This leathery brown algae is one of the most common forms of seaweed in the British Isles, its branched fronds with their characteristic air bubbles are familiar to anyone who has visited the coast.

Within those unassuming fronds the sea oak holds a treasure trove of vitamins and minerals. For more than two centuries it has been used to treat thyroid problems, thanks to its unusually high concentrations of iodine – also essential for healthy hair, skin and nails and a natural antiseptic. An effective but gentle exfoliant, the seaweed is also packed with trace elements and antioxidants that renew damaged cells. It is no wonder that herbalists employ sea oak for such a wide range of complaints, including aging and sore skin.

In Noble Isle’s Sea of Green you will find it cleanses and nourishes dry hands, brushing them with an invigorating fragrance reminiscent of the Atlantic coastal breeze.
