7 Ways to Flourish this Autumn

Can you feel a change of season in the air? This autumn our aim is to help you to embrace the new season so we’re sharing our ideas to help you nest and flourish as we embrace autumn’s feast for the senses and all things cosy.

Bring Autumn into Your Home

Use the new season as a chance to switch things around, declutter and have a spruce up. Add blankets to beds and sofas and get rid of anything broken, outgrown or unwanted. Fill vases with branches of autumn foliage to bring the outdoors inside. Refresh your bathroom by treating yourself to a new Hand Wash and Lotion – we love the mellow notes of Golden Harvest for this time of year.

Care for Your Home

Now is the perfect time to get your gutters and chimneys checked. It’s also worth checking your heating and window seals and stocking up on logs and candles. Our candles are all expertly crafted with the perfect balance of fine fragrance, wax and wick. You can discover our collection here.

Prioritise Health

Packed with vitamin C, Elderberries, Rosehips and Blackberries are all in season. You might want to make an immune-support Elderberry or Rosehip syrup or invest in some from your local health-food shop. Prioritising sleep, rest and time outside each day and eating home-cooked food can all help support your health over the upcoming months.

A Show of Trees

Over the next few weeks the trees start to put on a show as their leaves turn to gold, bronze, copper and burgundy. It’s worth taking a trip to the woods or even just a walk around the block to enjoy their beauty. You could collect some fallen leaves to thread onto string to make an autumn garland to enjoy some of their magic at home.

Slow Cooking Season

Now is the perfect time to embrace slow cooking. There’s so much inspiration on the BBC Good Food website – take a look at these vegan slow-cooker recipe ideas to get you started. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/search?q=vegan+slow+cooker&tab=recipe&diet=vegan. If you have a slow cooker you can just place everything in the pot and come back a few hours later to a delicious home-cooked meal. You can even scale up the recipes so you have another portion of soup, stew or curry to heat up and enjoy another day.

Start Planning Christmas

We know… it’s so early – but as a brand that specialises in gifting, we know it can also be worth thinking ahead to plan with friends and family and book tickets for theatre, ice-skating or Christmas light shows. Some people also enjoy getting ahead with their Christmas shopping or planning Christmas crafts. Arounna Khounnoraj’s Winter Celebrations: A Modern Guide to a Handmade Christmas is filled with inspiration. https://uk.bookshop.org/p/books/winter-celebrations-a-modern-guide-to-a-handmade-christmas-arounna-khounnoraj/7455322?ean=9781837830664

Autumn Fragrance

As the air becomes crisp and the light more golden, choosing a new fragrance is the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of the season. Our Fireside Collection captures the warm and comfort of a cosy evening by the hearth, while Lightning Oak celebrates the strength and resilience of the mighty Oak. Whisky & Water is a favourite at this time of year with its warm, wood notes – perfect for a moment of reflection. If you want to make the warmth of the summer last that bit longer then The Greenhouse captures the essence of a greenhouse at the height of the British summer.
